TV presenter Mikhail Zelensky on Wednesday, January 19, was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow. His family, friends, colleagues and fans attended the farewell ceremony.
Mikhail Zelensky died on January 11 at the age of 46 while on vacation in the Dominican Republic. The cause of death was a heart attack caused by a chronic disease of the cardiovascular system.
Director General of the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Sergey Shumakov noted that Zelensky was a very special person for the Kultura TV channel, where he worked. According to Shumakov, the journalist was endowed in full measure with a striking perfect light of extraordinary subtlety, delicacy, and intelligence.
Mikhail Zelensky was born on September 7, 1975 in Moscow. In 1999-2001, he hosted the Vesti program on RTR and Kultura TV channels. From February 2001 to February 2011, he hosted the Vesti-Moscow program. Since 2006, he has been the host of the linear broadcast of the Russia 24 TV channel.
In 2015, the journalist became the author of the documentary film Valaam. Salvation Island. Since September 2017, he has been a columnist for the Russia-Culture TV channel and host of the Culture News program. He taught at the Ostankino Higher School of Television.
