New York. If people do not go through any mild stress situation in their daily life, it may not always be considered a better situation. Researchers say that people who do not feel any stress, their condition may always be negative towards the feeling of feeling super-charged. A recent study has shown that people who have not experienced any type of stress, have better daily life and suffer less from chronic health conditions, but also have less knowledge of things. According to Penn State researcher David M. Almedia, the study suggests that small stresses on a daily basis can cause discomfort, but can also benefit the brain at the same time.
David said, “It’s possible that coping with stress creates opportunities for you to solve a problem. For example, perhaps fixing your computer, which was suddenly broken before an important zoom meeting.”
He said, “So experiencing these stresses may not be pleasant, but at the same time it can force you to solve a problem and it can actually be good for cognitive functioning.”
According to the researchers, previous studies have linked a greater degree of stress to a greater risk of a number of negative consequences, such as chronic illness or being emotionally vulnerable.
For the study published in the journal Emotion, researchers have used data from 2,711 participants.
The participants also underwent a short knowledge test before the start of the study.
The study required participants to undergo an exclusive interview each night for eight consecutive nights, asking about their mood, chronic conditions, their physical symptoms – such as a headache, cough, or sore throat. It was also noted what he did throughout the day.
After analyzing the data, the researchers found that there were benefits for those who had no stress during the study and about 10 percent of these participants.
Chronic health problems were also less observed in these participants and their mood throughout the day also indicated better.
However, those who did not see any stress were found to be comparatively less able to perform better using their knowledge and discretion.
This is the reason why after this research, researchers say that less stress in daily life can also be beneficial for our brain. (IANS)
