Ministry of Defense: Russian Armed Forces disrupted the transportation of weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the front with a missile attack

A massive blow to the energy system of Ukraine was delivered on January 27 by the Russian military, thereby disrupting the transportation of weapons and ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU).

As specified in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, with the help of missiles and drones, it was possible to hit all the designated objects that ensured the functioning of enterprises of the military-industrial complex and transport.

“As a result of the strike, the transportation of weapons and ammunition to the areas of hostilities, including those supplied by NATO countries, was disrupted,” Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, official representative of the department, said at a briefing.

It is also noted that the actions of the Russian Armed Forces interfered with the work of production enterprises for the repair and restoration of military equipment of the Ukrainian troops.

A day earlier, on January 26, the Kyiv regional military administration reported damage to energy infrastructure in several regions of Ukraine.

On the same day, the national company Ukrenergo reported that as a result of missile strikes, energy infrastructure facilities in the southern, central and southwestern regions of Ukraine were damaged.

On the morning of January 26, an air alert was announced throughout Ukraine. After that, the Ukrainian media reported explosions in the Kyiv, Odessa, Nikolaev, Dnepropetrovsk and Vinnitsa regions.

The head of the Odessa regional administration Maxim Marchenko confirmed the arrivals at the energy infrastructure facilities in the region, noting that two critical energy infrastructure facilities were damaged in the Odessa region.

Russian troops have been attacking Ukrainian military command facilities and related energy and communications facilities since October 10 last year. Russian President Vladimir Putin called it a response to the terrorist actions of the Kyiv regime, in particular on the Crimean bridge.

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
