In the process, Papa was handed over to an American soldier and the other four children were taken to the airport with great difficulty. Afterwards he went for Sohail but the baby was not found. A military commander said the baby was too dangerous to be at the airport and could be taken to a special area for children. But by the time I got there no one was visible. Searched everywhere but found no result.
An Afghan refugee support group launched a campaign on social media last November after the child went missing and was still missing for months. Sohail created a group ‘Missing Baby’ with a photo and shared it on their networks in the hope that someone would find out. Sohail was eventually picked up at the Kabul airport by a taxi driver named Hamid Safi, 29.
After more than seven weeks of negotiations and appeals, Sohail’s grandfather, who was in Kabul with the intervention of Taliban officials, handed over the child to other relatives.
Mirza Ali’s family, who arrived in the United States from Kabul, Qatar, via Germany, are currently living in an Afghan refugee camp in Texas. They are appealing to us to cooperate in bringing sin to them.
