Mitsubishi Electric India has stated that more than 2,000 jobs will be created in India with the coming of the plant. This includes 60 percent women employees. The new plant will work with the objectives of reducing carbon dioxide emissions, providing more efficient air conditioning and carbon neutrality.
Company officials say that commercial production will begin in October 2025 and the initial capacity of room air conditioners will be 3 lakh units and that of compressors 6.50 lakh units by December 2025. It has been informed that steps like purification and reuse of waste water including through underground filtration treatment will be implemented in the manufacturing unit.
The company said it plans to make all new cars hybrid and electric within the next five years. Mitsubishi has partnerships with France’s Renault and Nissan. The company has announced that it will launch 16 new models of vehicles in five years.
