QPrime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bhimavaram was a turning point. Modi saluted the freedom fighter’s daughter. The photo related to this is going viral on the internet. Prime Minister Modi unveiled a 30-feet bronze statue of Alluri at Peda Amiram in West Godavari district on the birth anniversary of Manyam Veeru Alluri Sitharamaraju. After that he participated in the public meeting held there and gave a speech. Later, Modi met the family members of freedom fighters Pasala Krishnamurthy and Anjalakshmi. The Prime Minister greeted them warmly and saluted Pasala Krishna Bharati (90), the daughter of the heroic couple. While Krishnabharti was in a wheelchair, the Prime Minister touched her feet, bowed and took blessings.
Pasala Krishnamurthy was born on January 26, 1900 at Padamara Viparru near Tadepalligudem. They are a wealthy family. Anjalakshmi was born in 1904 in Tanuku Taluka Kumudavalli in a Munasabu family. They got married in 1916. Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to Vijayawada and Eluru in 1921 changed their lives.
