The positive results of the Egyptian national team recently contributed to the improvement of its monthly global ranking of teams, which was issued by the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) today, Thursday, after the end of the fifth round of the African Nations Cup qualifiers.
The Argentine national team maintained the top of the world rankings, and the French national team came in second place, then Brazil, and England came in fourth place, then the Belgian national team, then the Croatian national team, and the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, and Spain ranked tenth.
The Egyptian national team rose in the world rankings and reached the fifth place at the level of the continent and the 34th in the world, after it ranked 35th in the world last month, while the Morocco national team maintained its lead in the list of African teams in the classification and continued its presence in the 13th place in the world.
The Egyptian national team was able to win 2-1 at the expense of Guinea in the framework of the fifth round of qualifying matches for the African Cup of Nations, which is scheduled to be held in Côte d’Ivoire next year, in addition to winning the friendly match with South Sudan.
After this classification, the Egyptian national team ranked fifth in Africa, after Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia and Algeria, respectively.
