Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi spoke about Liverpool star and top scorer Mohamed Salah, the date of his return to the Egyptian national team and his first appearance under the leadership of Brigadier General Hossam Hassan.
Ashraf Sobhi confirmed, in Egyptian radio statements, that he is communicating with Mohamed Salah, and that he will be present in the next national team camp, God willing, indicating that Salah’s presence with the Egyptian national team is very important, and whatever the obstacles, he must be present.
The Egyptian national team will face Burkina Faso and Guinea Bissau next month, in the first group of qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup finals.
The Minister of Youth said: “We support and trust the national team’s coach and its administrative director, but there is intervention from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and from me in this matter, and everything is going well.”
Mohamed Salah was absent from his country’s national team camp last March, at his request, as he wanted to reach full readiness after recovering from a previous muscle injury, which kept him out of the field for a period of time.
