The former Al-Ahly club and Egyptian national team star, Mohamed Fadl, confirmed new scenes that happened in the match between Egypt and Guinea-Bissau, which ended in a draw (1-1), in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, between Hossam Hassan and Mohamed Salah, captain of the Egyptian national team.
Mohamed Fadl said, in his interview on the Egyptian “On Time Sports 2” satellite channel: “What happened was Captain Hossam Hassan. He was going to make changes, so he asked Salah, ‘You will graduate,’ but Mohamed Salah refused the change and told Hossam Hassan, the national team’s coach, ‘I am sitting’.”
Mohamed Fadl, who appears to have obtained this information from one of the players on the bench, added: “Hossam Hassan then came back in the change and Mustafa Fathi sat down. This is the truth in the language of football and sports.”
The former Al-Ahly star continued: “Hossam Hassan should not have summoned Mustafa Fathi to come down before asking Mohamed Salah about his position on change.”
