The English Football League announced today, Friday, that Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool player, won the Player of the Month award for November.
The league’s official website stated that Salah contributed to five of the seven goals Liverpool scored in the three league matches it won this month to maintain its top spot in the standings.
Salah scored the winning goal in the match that Liverpool won over Brighton 2-1, and he also participated in the two goals that Liverpool scored against Aston Villa, before scoring two goals in the second half against Southampton in the match that Liverpool won 3-2.
Salah was the top scorer for the month of November in the Premier League, and the Egyptian player currently has 13 goals this season, equal to Erling Haaland, the Manchester City player.
Salah (32 years old) contributed to 21 goals this season, the most by a player in the Premier League, surpassing Cole Palmer, who is in second place, with four contributions.
This is the first time that Salah has won the award since October 2023, and the sixth time he has won it overall, tying with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard and Cristiano Ronaldo, the former Manchester United player.
Salah needs to win it once more to equal the records of Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero, who have won the award more than any other player in the history of the competition.
In a related context, Arne Slot, Liverpool coach, was crowned coach of the month award.
Only Liverpool, led by Slott, won all their matches in November.
Thanks to the wins over Brighton, Aston Villa and Southampton, Liverpool ended the month of November at the top of the table, a full eight points behind its closest rivals.
This is the first time that Slott has won the award, beating out Fabian Horzler and Gary O’Neill.
