Russian singer and musician Liza Monetochka on December 24 released a new single “Shagane”. On this composition, in which the girl talks about feminism, she worked with her husband and the artistic director of the musical group Vitya Isaev.
The Shagane track tells about the feeling of being a strong woman in the world. As Monetochka confessed to Izvestia, it took her a long time to understand the purpose of the feminist movement and that she was “very sympathetic” to it.
“Like many supporters of feminism, I did not immediately come to this, and seemed to brush it off a little, saying that some radical aspects of feminism confuse me,” she said.
In turn, Vitya Isaev noted that the song was born during the first quarantine due to the spread of the coronavirus.
“Then it was very difficult to find some form for her. There were a lot of demos until I accepted Lisa’s original material, which was based on parallel major chords, ”said the musician.
He also expressed his opinion that the band made the right decision with a rock and roll version of the song.
The video for the new track of Monetochka presents the singer’s permanent concert line-up: on bass – Paata Chakaberia, on keys – Varvara Chirkina, and on drums – Grisha Drach. With this line-up, the group will go on a new tour,
The singer’s solo concert will take place in the Izvestia Hall club. The event is called Lisa Monetochka’s Post-Christmas Meetings.
