Due to a technical malfunction, money was debited from the account of an unknown number of ING customers last Friday. ING says it is currently busy repaying all the money.
On Friday, an unknown number of ING customers were wrongly charged. For many customers this is an amount of 6 euros. This happened several times with some account holders. On Twitter, customers complain that even fifteen or nineteen times such amount has been debited from their account.
According to an ING spokesperson, this mainly concerns customers who have incorrectly paid for the withdrawal and deposit of cash. According to the spokesperson, the costs were charged due to a technical adjustment made by the bank.
ING does not want to make any announcements about how many customers are involved or what amount has been incorrectly debited in total.
“We are doing everything we can to reimburse the costs of the injured customers in the coming days,” the spokesperson said. People don’t have to take action themselves. ,,It is our highest priority to restore this.” By Thursday everyone should have their money back in the account.
