Mónica Cabrejos accepted that fame can stun people and confuse them. This situation happened to her when she returned to the cast of Jorge Benavides after staying for a period in “Risas y salsa”. “She asked me why I had left and I replied that I wanted more opportunities, I wanted to be a star, to do musicals on TV. She told me: ‘Well, when your contract ends you come back,’” she expressed.

“I came back, but I have to admit it, super booty. Jorge always treated me well, until one day, I admit, I made a terrible mistake. I went on a trip to Colombia without notifying him and there I told him that I was not going to record that week. He separated me from the cast because he is very fair no matter how much he appreciates you. So if you misbehave, he’s going to let you know in the best way,” he revealed.

He was the victim of harassment by a television manager

“It was a blessing in my life, at such a difficult time for me, that Jorge gave me a job, took care of me, I will not say the name of the manager, but there was one who wanted to go overboard with me and another girl from the cast. When Jorge found out, he protected us in a way that only a father can. He didn’t let us get any closer to that guy who even wanted me thrown out because I was spoiled to turn him down.”he remembered.

“He got in the way, he could have simply thrown out the extra (Mónica), but he did the right thing (…) My eternal gratitude to Jorge for taking care of me in an environment where women are so exposed to power. He always protected me, that’s why I consider him part of my artistic family, him, Alfredo, his wife and Christian may he rest in peace,” she added.
