New strategic alliance in the business sector. The Aragonese company Moontech Industrial Solutions, technological spin-off of Celulosa Fabril (CEFA), Modulos Ribera Alta (MRA) and Algontec, and the Catalan company Aquiles Solutions have signed a collaboration agreement, called ‘Industria & Logistics ++’, through in which both companies will collaborate to bring technology, robots and AGVs to the industry, in addition to opening more markets in Spain.
The signature of this strategic alliance between both companies coincides precisely with the opening of an Aquiles Solutions office in Zaragoza.
The company, originally from Barcelona, makes the leap to the Aragonese community where it will work on projects with Moontech Industrial Solutions to implement guided vehicles and robots in the industry.
A collaboration that will allow the Catalan Aquiles, specialized in software development with artificial intelligence, open the Aragon market, while Moontech will expand in Catalonia. “We can provide the end customer with a more powerful range of solutions,” Moontech Industrial Solutions explains to the Economist
This alliance has also occurred after the synergies that both companies had already established in the implementation of common projects and, specifically, in CEFA, now moving forward to become strategic partners.
Business processes can be optimized and automated
Likewise, both companies will be able to better address global projects and provide added value by uniting the knowledge of AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) and AMRs (Autonomous Mobile Robots) with artificial intelligence solutions. In this way, they will be offered innovative solutions that currently do not exist on the market.
Technology
Moontech, established in 2019 and specialized in automatic intralogistics, focuses its activity mainly on the integration of two types of technology. On the one hand, the company carries out its activity in AGVs, specifically, in guided vehicles from Ergomaq, which use a ferromagnetic, optical or adhesive tape stuck to the ground to read the circuit through which they move.
Specifically, the core of Moontech is in integration in the software part for which there is a customizable application. AGV technology is already validated in industries in the automotive sector and has begun to be democratized, being used by companies such as Seat in its Martorell plant.
For their part, AMRs are Mobile autonomous robots with different applications such as autonomous scrubbers, cleaning robots, social robots or stacking robots, the latter being considered the substitutes for mechanical bulls with forklifts.
It should be noted that, for a project in this field, Moontech received last March the Pilot Award granted by the Aragonese Development Institute. This award represented support for this line of activity in which a total of 27 mobile robots have recently been acquired and are being implemented at CEFA so that, for example, the robot is capable of bringing or carrying the container with finished product. These robots have scanners and cameras so they can coexist with normal human traffic or mechanical bulls in a factory, among other features.
Both companies will be able to offer innovative and unique solutions in the market
Along these lines, Moontech Industrial Solutions will contribute to this strategic relationship its specialization in intralogistics through AGVs and AMRs and knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, MES manufacturing systems such as BSM or Captor and graphical analytics platforms such as Grafana or Microsoft Power BI.
Moontech’s expert team takes care of program the connection between industrial systems (logical systems) and robots (physical systems)in addition to implementing intralogistics projects with AGVs and AMRs, which could be defined as “turnkey” to respond to the specific needs of each company.
This activity of Mootench will be perfectly complemented by that of Aquiles Solutions, specialized in consulting and software development of solutions based on artificial intelligence of the latest generation for various industries in order to optimize and automate business processes.
Moontech currently has clients with AMRs or AGVs such as BSH (5 units), Hiab (7), Modules Ribera Alta (80), Saphir (1) or Hitachi (3), totaling around 100. For its part , Aquiles has among its portfolio Celsa Group, Sesé, Frit Ravich, SRG Global and CEFA.
