Gandhinagar: There was a famous suspension bridge in Morbi, Gujarat. A large number of people gathered on the bridge on October 30 last year to witness this. Subsequently, the bridge collapsed without bearing the load. Out of this, 135 people drowned in the water.
Meanwhile, Oreva Group received the contract for the repair work of the bridge from Morbi Municipality in March 2022. The suspension bridge was re-opened for public use on October 26 last year after several months of renovation work. In this situation, the bridge collapsed and a tragic accident occurred in four days.
A detailed inquiry has been ordered into the incident. Rajkot IG Ashok Yadav told reporters:
Jayashuk Patel, Managing Director of Oreva Company, has been identified by police investigation as the main culprit in the Morbi suspension bridge accident.
A 1,262-page charge sheet has been filed in the case. Jayashuk Patel’s name has been included as the main culprit. Also, the names of 9 people who have already been arrested are also there. This is what he said.
