1. PM Modi’s announcement – 80 crore poor people will get free ration for the next 5 years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Central Government will extend the benefit of free ration scheme to 80 crore poor families for the next 5 years. He made this promise during an election rally in Durg, Chhattisgarh. Modi also accused the state Congress government of a scam worth Rs 9500 crore.
After this Modi addressed an election meeting in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh. Without taking the names of Digvijay and Kamal Nath, he said that there is a competition of tearing clothes between two Congress leaders. They are not fighting for the CM’s chair but because whose son will capture the Congress MP?
Why is this news important: Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana was launched in March 2020 during Covid. It was extended for one year in December 2022. Under this, families with BPL cards are given 4 kg wheat and 1 kg rice free per person every month.

2. Israeli attacks on mosques in Gaza; Hezbollah attacks 6 Israeli army posts

Gaza’s Health Ministry says that due to continuous Israeli bombardment, more than 2,200 people are buried under the debris here.
On the 29th day of the Israel-Hamas war, Hamas alleged that the Israeli Army is attacking mosques. According to Al Jazeera, 15 people are dying every hour due to the Israeli bombardment in Gaza, 6 of them are children. Also 35 people are getting injured and 12 buildings are being destroyed. Meanwhile, Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah has attacked 6 posts of the Israeli Army. The Israeli army also retaliated.
Why is this news important: The Israeli Army claims that Gaza is now divided into two parts. The army is delivering humanitarian aid to South Gaza. The war has intensified in North Gaza. On the other hand, UN says that no place is left safe in Gaza. So far, 1403 Israelis and more than 9 thousand Palestinians have been killed in the war that started on October 7.

3. ISRO Chief stops publication of autobiography; Claim- It was written that my promotion was stopped by former Chief Sivan.

ISRO Chief S. Somnath has stopped publishing his autobiography. According to media reports, Somnath had claimed in the book that his promotion was stopped by former space agency chief K Sivan. They did not want me to become the chief of the organization. Along with this it was also written that Chandrayaan-2 had failed due to haste. All the tests that were supposed to be done before the mission were not done.
What Somnath has to say: I have written about the challenges I have faced in my life. Did not make any personal comment on anyone. In the book I have told my journey till becoming ISRO Chief. 4. IIT-BHU student identifies the accused; Another case of molestation came to light
The student who was molested in the IIT campus of Banaras Hindu University has identified the three accused through CCTV footage. The police have taken many suspects into custody and are interrogating them. Two days before this incident, another case of molestation had come to light on the campus. But the student did not complain about it in writing.
What decisions were taken after the incident: Police and security vans will patrol every 2 hours for the security of IIT-BHU campus. Pink booths will be made. Retired military guards and police will be deployed at more than 40 check points. The number of guards will be increased in night shift. Vehicle numbers of outsiders will be noted at all entry points of the campus from 10 pm to 5 am.

5. Terrorist attack on Pakistan’s Mianwali airbase, 3 aircraft and fuel tanker destroyed
A terrorist attack took place on Mianwali airbase in Punjab province of Pakistan. Armed suicide bombers entered the Air Force training base. Pakistani Air Force says that they foiled the attack and killed 9 terrorists. A fuel tanker and 3 aircraft were destroyed during the encounter. Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan (TJP) has taken responsibility for the attack.
Why is this news important: There have been 2 terrorist attacks in Pakistan in 24 hours. Earlier on Friday night, there was a terrorist attack on two army vehicles in Gwadar. 14 soldiers were killed in this. According to BBC report, Tehreek-e-Jihad gets support from Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The terrorist attacks for which TTP does not want to take responsibility are blamed on TJP.

6. In the sixth list of Rajasthan Congress, tickets of 23 candidates, 12 leaders including ministers and MLAs were canceled.

Congress released the sixth list of 23 candidates for Rajasthan Assembly elections. Tickets of 12 leaders including a minister and MLA have been cancelled. The party has left Bharatpur seat for RLD. This is the second consecutive time that Bharatpur seat has been given to RLD.
Why is this news important: Congress had announced names of 33 candidates in the first list, 43 in the second list, 19 in the third list, 56 in the fourth list and 5 in the fifth list. Now candidates for 21 seats are yet to be announced. There are elections in the state on 25th November, the last date for nomination is 6th November.

7. World Cup 2023: Pakistan beats New Zealand; Defending champion England lost to Australia

Fakhar Zaman, the hero of Pakistan’s victory, scored unbeaten 126 on 81 balls. Adam Zampa from Australia took 3 wickets.
Two World Cup matches were played yesterday. In the match held at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 21 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis Method (DLS). At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Australia defeated defending champion England by 33 runs.
Pakistan Vs New Zealand: New Zealand, who came to bat first, scored 401 runs for 6 wickets in 50 overs. But due to rain, Pakistan got a revised target of 342 runs in 41 overs. The game was stopped again due to rain after 25.3 overs, when Pakistan had scored 200 runs for one wicket. After the game could not start, Pakistan was declared the winner under the DLS method.
