Coordination between Morocco and Spain regarding the train connection between Madrid and Casablanca, through the sea tunnel project, has reached very advanced stages.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Larazon”, the fixed link project between Morocco and Spain via the sea tunnel will be completed within 5 years, before hosting the World Cup finals in 2030.
The newspaper confirmed that Secegsa, a company that studies fixed communications across the Strait of Gibraltar, is discussing this project with the authorities in depth, with the aim of downloading it without problems.
The newspaper added that the aforementioned project during the World Cup will contribute to the transportation of fans to and from Morocco to watch the matches, especially since the trip duration will not exceed 5 hours.
The Spanish newspaper “Larazon” highlighted that the railway connection project will extend over a distance of 42 km, and the length of the tunnel is 38.7 km, of which 27.8 km are underwater.
