Most Large Companies Prohibit Employees From Using Chat GPT

More companies are banning employees from using Chat GPT, an open AI chatbot. Big companies like Apple, Samsung, Goldman Sachs and others have banned employees from using chat GPT. More and more companies are banning AI chatbots out of concern that employees using AI chatbots may leak company internal data. Apple is tightly controlling generative AI platforms in the workplace. There is also restriction on using other AI chatbots, not just Chat GPT, which is helpful for coding.

This move by the company is to prevent Apple’s code or other sensitive data from leaking. The ban stems from concerns over the handling of data by AI platforms owned or financed by rival Microsoft. Smartphone maker Samsung earlier this month banned ChatGPT and other AI tools after a sensitive code uploaded to ChatGPT was leaked.
Amazon had already banned employees from uploading any code or confidential information to OpenAI’s chatbot in January.

In February, JP Morgan strictly restricted the use of chat GPT among employees. Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo and Goldman Sachs have also imposed a similar ban. More companies are also coming into the field by banning employees from using AI chatbots. Most companies ban employees from using chat GPT, Bard etc. fearing data leakage. Concerns still remain about how companies store data on these servers.
