The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki, said Thursday that Africa is proud of the Kingdom of Morocco, after it received the honor of organizing the 2030 World Cup, along with Portugal and Spain.
Faki confirmed in a post on the social networking site “X Twitter”: “Congratulations to Morocco on this achievement. It is a source of pride for the African continent.”
Moussa Faki added in his blog post that the Kingdom of Morocco has made Africa one of the leading continents in the field of international football.
King Mohammed VI received, today, Thursday, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, Faouzi Lakjaa, Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget and President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, and the King appointed him Chairman of the “2030 World Cup Committee.”
The Royal Court statement stated that this appointment comes after the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) Council unanimously approved the Morocco-Spain-Portugal bid as the sole candidacy to host the 2030 World Cup.
On this occasion, His Majesty the King, may God protect him, expressed the hope and will that the organization of this global demonstration be driven by a strong ambition based on a project capable of ensuring the great success of this session.
