New Delhi: The Parliament was paralyzed for the 5th consecutive day yesterday due to the violence of the ruling party and opposition MPs.
The 2nd session of the budget session of the Parliament started on 13th. Opposition MPs including Congress and DMK chanted that a joint parliamentary committee should be ordered to investigate the Adani Group irregularities.
The ruling party responded by chanting that senior Congress leader Rahul should apologise, when he commented in London that there was a threat to democracy in India. The same slogan echoed in Parliament yesterday for the 5th day.
As the Lok Sabha began yesterday morning, Congress MPs marched into the chamber and chanted for a joint parliamentary inquiry into the Adani Group scandal. They also said that Rahul Gandhi should be allowed to speak in the House.
In response, members of the ruling party chanted that Rahul Gandhi should apologize for humiliating India. This process continued for 20 minutes. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla appealed to the MPs to allow the House to run smoothly. “People don’t send you here to get involved. I will give everyone a chance to speak. Help them to run smoothly” he said.
As the MPs did not heed his request, he announced that the House would be adjourned for the day and the Lok Sabha would meet again the day after tomorrow. Congress MPs Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and other ministers were present in the House at that time.
Similarly, when the Rajya Sabha met yesterday morning, the opposition members gave notice of an adjournment resolution to discuss the Adani Group corruption. Rajya Sabha Speaker Jagdeep Dhankar rejected this.
Subsequently, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party MPs went to the center of the House and raised slogans that a joint parliamentary committee should be formed. Trinamool Congress and DMK MPs also stood up from their seats and raised their voices in support of them. In response, the ruling party MPs raised slogans asking Rahul to apologize. The Rajya Sabha was also adjourned for the whole day yesterday due to this crisis.
Notice against Prime Minister: Prime Minister Kodi spoke in the Rajya Sabha on the 9th of last month on the resolution of thanks to the President’s speech in Parliament. At that time, the names of the Nehru-Gandhi family have been kept for more than 600 government projects in the country. But why none of the Nehru family added Nehru to their names is not understood. What is this shame for them?”
As a result, Congress General Secretary and Rajya Sabha Congress MP Venugopal has given a notice of violation of rights to the Speaker against Prime Minister Modi. PM Modi has made derogatory comments against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. This comment is mocking, offensive and insulting to Lok Sabha members Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Therefore, I am issuing an infringement notice against Prime Minister Modi under Rajya Sabha Rule No. 188. Action should be taken against him for violation of rights’, it said.
