The last Nizam of Hyderabad State.. The grandson of ‘Mir Usman Ali Khan Bahadur’, the eldest son of Nizam Azam Jha and the son of Durre Shehwar couple, the eighth Nizam Raju Mukarram Jha Bahadur. Nizam’s family revealed that 89-year-old Mukarram Jha died in Istanbul, Turkey on Saturday night. It is said that he breathed his last due to illness.
Meanwhile, Jha’s last wish was to be cremated in his native country, so his children decided to bring the body to Hyderabad. He said that Jha’s body will be brought to Hyderabad on 17th of this month. His mortal remains will be kept for public viewing at Chowmahalla Palace in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
Jha was born on October 6, 1933 in France to Prince Azam Jah and Princess Durru Shehwar of the Ottoman Empire. After the accession of Hyderabad to the Indian Union, the seventh Nizam, Mir Usman Ali Khan, served as the Raj Pramukh of the state from January 26, 1950 to October 31, 1956. On April 6, 1967, he was crowned as Asaf Jaga VIII. However, in 1971, the Government of India abolished the nominal status of states. After that he went to Istanbul in Turkey and settled there.
CM KCR advised the government advisor A.K.Khan to take further steps as per the decision of Mukarram Jha’s family members to confirm the time and place of the funeral. As per CM KCR’s instructions, AK Khan is coordinating with Nizam’s family members. Information like negotiating with them.
