The authorities are starting a project to teach music in schools as part of the ongoing reforms in the country under the leadership of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The action is also part of the Vision 2030 projects under the leadership of the Crown Prince. The authorities formed the Music Commission in the country in February 2020. It started working under the Saudi Ministry of Culture. The activities of the commission are aimed at formulating necessary plans for the growth and development of music fields and providing facilities for music education. Along with this, the commission will find Saudi musical talents and give them the necessary training.

Discussions have already taken place between the Ministries of Education and Culture as part of measures to make music a part of the curriculum. Matters like content of syllabus, qualification of music teachers and their recruitment were discussed between the two ministries. A huge increase in the number of musical events being held in the country is currently being reported. The General Entertainment Authority, which was formed in 2016, organized many music programs with the participation of international musicians. Cinema halls were opened in Saudi after four decades in 2018 as part of promoting and strengthening the country’s cultural, artistic and musical sectors.
