Oleg Skrypka, leader of the Ukrainian group Vopli Vidoplyasova, complained that the concerts of Ukrainian performers in Europe are being canceled and Ukrainians are considered fascists.
“Ukrainian music began to meet the resistance of some secret forces in Germany. They began to cancel our concerts everywhere under the auspices that Ukrainians are fascists, and fascists cannot sing their songs in their native language, ”the musician said in a video posted on his blog on September 15.
Skrypka also said that he faced a practice of canceling performances when his group was denied a concert in one of the clubs in Hamburg.
He also complained that the Germans support Ukraine in words, but in reality the contracts of Ukrainian musicians are not supported, and they cannot perform in Europe.
As the Ukrainian edition “Strana” notes, this is not the first case of canceling concerts of Ukrainian artists in Europe. So, the writer Sergei Zhadan was banned from collecting money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at a concert in Italy. For this reason, his concert in Milan was cancelled.
On September 3, it was reported that concerts of Russian artists Maxim Galkin, Valery Meladze, as well as the Time Machine group with its leader Andrei Makarevich (included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the register of individuals acting as a foreign agent) were canceled in Tbilisi. The concerts were supposed to take place at the Sports Palace, as the reason for the cancellation of performances was the start of repair work in the hall.
