Varanasi. The Supreme Court on Friday issued a notice to the Gyanvapi Mosque Management Committee and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in the Kashi Vishwanath Gyanvapi Mosque dispute case. This notice has been issued on the petition filed by Hindu petitioners.
Hindu side’s lawyer Madan Mohan Yadav said, “The Hindu side has taken this matter to the Supreme Court. The Shivalinga in Vaju Khana has still not been surveyed by the Archeology Department. This will make it clear whether it is a Shivalinga or a fountain. The Muslim side claims that it is a fountain. ASI survey was conducted, in which ASI survey of 8 out of 12 basements of Gyanvapi Mosque could not be done. Along with this, the Jyotirlinga under the main dome has also not been surveyed. There was a hearing regarding this in the Supreme Court.”
In this, notice has been issued to the Muslim side. The Muslim side has been clearly told to file its reply within two weeks. We hope that he will file his reply soon.” It is being claimed that during a videography survey, Shivalinga was found in the premises of Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi. In view of this, this matter reached the court. The court has given notice for ASI survey in the Waju Khana sealed area.
Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain said, “We had claimed on May 16, 2022, that a Shivalinga has been found in the so-called Vaju Khana. However, Anjuman administration denied this and said that it is a fountain. Keeping this in view, we had demanded its ASI survey. We have now issued a notice to the Muslim side in this matter (Gyanvapi Mosque). Furthermore, the Muslim side has been asked to file its reply within two weeks. In such a situation, it has to be seen what is said in response from the Muslim side.”
