Problems with sending some emoji via iPhone to Telegram can be related to both the actions of Apple and the messenger itself. Denis Kuskov, CEO of Telecom Daily, expressed this opinion in an interview with Izvestia on Friday, December 2.
Earlier that day, information appeared in the media that some emoticons, including those with an LGBT theme, began to reach the interlocutor in an incomplete form in Telegram.
“Many factors can be the cause of the failure. Smartphone developers, Telegram itself, or owners of the operating system could contribute. For example, Apple in certain situations can severely punish developer programmers, ”Kuskov suggested.
According to him, this error may be related to changes in the company’s internal policy.
“The problem may be on the side of Telegram, but it seems to me that it was Apple that introduced restrictions,” the expert added.
The problem with sending emoji was noticed in the iOS version of Telegram back on November 26th. We are talking about “in love” emoji with the image of hugging people – and the problems affected both pictures with people of the same sex, and with a pair of a man and a woman. Thus, the recipient of the message could see only half of the image. At the same time, the problem was fixed only in the iOS version of the application.
Experts attribute the malfunctions to a technical failure and believe that they are not related to the restrictions imposed in the Russian Federation on LGBT propaganda, Gazeta.Ru reports.
On November 30, the Federation Council approved a law banning propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations, pedophilia and information that could cause a desire to change sex. According to the initiative, now administrative responsibility for LGBT propaganda will come for the commission of such actions against persons of any age, and not only against minors, as was provided before the adoption of the law.
