Napoli, Italy, approached reaching the quarter-finals of the European Champions League, by defeating its host Eintracht Frankfurt, Germany, 2-0, on Tuesday, in the first leg of the round of sixteen.
Napoli got a penalty kick in the 36th minute after returning to the mouse technique, as a result of a violation by Aurelio Bota against Victor Osimhen, but Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp saved the penalty kick that was carried out by Khafisha Kvaratskhelia.
But just two minutes later, Osimhen scored the first goal for Napoli after a clever pass from Hirving Lozano, with which the Nigerian striker had no difficulty in scoring.
Frankfurt’s hopes of returning to the match were dealt a severe blow after Randall Kolo Mwani was sent off in the 58th minute as a result of a violent tackle on Andre Zambo Anguesa.
Napoli took advantage of the numerical shortage in the ranks of the hosts and scored the second goal through Giovanni Di Lorenzo with a powerful shot with his left foot, after a pass from Kfaratskhelia in the 65th minute.
