The expansion of military support for Ukraine indicates the readiness of the West to any extremes in the confrontation with Russia. This was announced on Wednesday, February 1, by the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergei Naryshkin.
“We, of course, note the expansion of both the volume and the range of military equipment supplied to the puppet Kyiv regime, including offensive strike weapons,” RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.
He noted that the United States, together with like-minded people, intend to fight Russia “to the last Ukrainian.”
Also on that day, Naryshkin assured that the hopes of the North Atlantic Alliance for the defeat of the Russian Federation in the current conflict would not come true.
Earlier, on January 25, military expert Igor Nikulin expressed the opinion that the supply of tanks would not affect the course of the special operation in Donbass. He noted that Berlin, for example, will provide Kyiv with obsolete military equipment, with which the Russian military will have no problems.
Western countries have stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine after the start of Russia’s special operation to protect Donbass. Moscow announced its beginning on February 24, 2022. The decision was made by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
