From the beginning our scientists had a terrible suspicion of asteroids lying between Jupiter and Mars. Scientists believe that a huge asteroid hit the earth 65 million years ago, killing many species including dinosaurs. Even now they have a similar suspicion on the ‘Bennu’ asteroid. The American NASA scientists are worried that the ‘back’ asteroid that comes in the straight line of the moon and the earth will hit the earth after 200 years.
By studying the pattern of rocks and soils in ‘Bennu’ and understanding the evolution of the solar system, the calculation of the destruction of this ‘Bennu’ has been made by the American NASA. For this, in 2016, a spacecraft called ‘Osiris-Rex’ was sent to Bennu, 8.1 crore km from Earth. It collected samples there and returned to American soil after a 2-year journey. 7 years of operation has been completed here.
