New Delhi: Union Ministers Mansukh Mandaviya and Jitendra Singh introduced the world’s first anti-coronavirus vaccine administered through the nose in Delhi yesterday.
Bharat Biotech, headquartered in Telangana’s capital Hyderabad, has developed a Corona vaccine called Covaxin. This locally produced vaccine was administered to millions of people across the country during the Corona pandemic. Now it is also given as a booster vaccine.
In this case, Bharat Biotech has developed a nasal anti-coronavirus vaccine in collaboration with the University of Washington. It is named `Incovac’. It is the world’s first nasally administered corona vaccine.
After successful all-stage trials, the Central Drug Regulatory Authority approved Incovac for emergency use in people over 18 years of age last September. Subsequently, permission was given last December to use it as a booster dose as well.
In this case, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh launched Incovac drops yesterday in Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day. This drug is to be sold at Rs.325 per dose to central and state governments and Rs.800 to private hospitals. Two doses of the vaccine should be given 28 days apart.
Incovac Drops was launched last month on Govin’s website. In this case, Bharat Biotech said that you can make a reservation for this vaccine through the website.
