Recognized as one of the most significant carnivals in Peru, this event highlights not only for its cultural wealth and the intensity with which Cajamarquinos live it, but also for the great concerts that are held.
The main festivities of Cajamarca Carnival 2025 They will take place from Saturday 1 to Wednesday, March 5. During these days, the city is transformed with comparsas, parades and activities that reflect the joy and spirit of community of its inhabitants.
Music will not be missing at the ‘Carnival Festival without equal’
The Cajamarca Carnival is one of the most representative and vibrant in Peru, highlighted for its festive atmosphere, music and dances. Its celebration takes place in February or March, according to the liturgical calendar, and is recognized as the capital of the Peruvian Carnival. During these dates, artists from different regions of the country and even abroad arrive to make thousands of tourists dance.
From the arrival of Ño CarnivalónUntil the exciting Corso, the streets are filled with comparsas, dances and water and painting games, generating an atmosphere of celebration that infects both premises and tourists. To accompany all this, the Provincial Municipality of Cajamarca has organized a series of free concerts with artists from various genres.
One of the main activities will be the entrance of the Ño Carnavalón, which will take place this Saturday, March 1, starting at 10:00 am, on the esplanade of the esplanade Qhapaq Ñan. For this event, the music will be in charge of Don Guillermo Orchestra and Ensemble, Harmony 10 of Walther Lozada and the famous Sánchez brothers.

Parties at the Bolognesi square
The Bolognesi square will be the place that will house a great stage for three days, where various local and national artists will arrive to entertain the Cajamarquinos and tourists. On Saturday, March 1, starting at 7:00 pm, Cumbia will be represented by Mauricio Mesones and Brothers Yaipénwhile Carnival headlines will carry the best of traditional music.
On day 2, on Sunday, March 2, the party will be enlivened by Los Villacorta, Niche Stars and Alexander Orchestra. The closure, on Monday, March 3, will be in charge of the Caribbean of Guadalupe and the beautiful light, two of the most important cumbia groups in the country.
