The national team cyclist, Mohammed Al-Mutaiwee, won the white jersey in the first stage of the Salalah Tour, which was held yesterday, for a distance of 131.2 km in the Sadah – Mirbat Fort area in Oman, while the second stage of the tour starts this morning and starts from Al-Dahariz Beach to Wadi Darbat, for a distance of 120.4 km, and the tour will conclude the day after tomorrow. This year, 90 cyclists from 15 different teams are participating in the tour, while the national team is represented by five cyclists: Ahmed Al-Mansouri, Mohammed Al-Mutaiwee, Abdullah Al-Hammadi, Mohammed Mihrab and Saeed Habash.
For his part, the national team coach, Badr Thani, praised the performance of the national team cyclists in the first stage of the tour, which resulted in Mohammed Al-Mutawa’i winning the white jersey for the under-23 category, pointing out the strength of the race, especially since the tour includes more than six professional teams, in addition to the existing teams.
