BhubaneswarAfter the crushing defeat of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha, Naveen Patnaik’s close aide VK Pandian has decided to quit politics. Pandian has retired from politics at a time when BJD is out of power in the state after 24 years.
A day earlier, former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had praised Pandian (VK Pandian) a lot. He had said that he did a very good job as an officer. Patnaik had said that Pandian saved the people of the state from two storms. He did a very good job during Covid 19. Pandian (VK Pandian) was the target of the opposition in the Odisha assembly elections. BJP had targeted BJD regarding Pandian.
Former 2000 batch IAS officer VK Pandian took VRS and joined politics. When BJD won the state in 2019, Pandian was considered to have played a major role in it. Before the 2024 elections, he was described as the super CM by the opposition. Pandian, who became the chief campaigner and election strategist of BJD, has now announced his retirement from politics.
In his video message, he has said that he came into politics only to support Naveen Babu. He thanks lakhs of people associated with BJP Janata Dal. Pandian (VK Pandian) said that false campaigns were run about him. Pandian (VK Pandian) also said that if he has ever made any mistake, please forgive him.
