Regarding the difference between his generation and the generation of Omar Abdul Rahman (Amouri), who won the 21st edition of the Gulf Cup, which was held in Bahrain in 2013, he said: “The players of my generation worked a lot on and off the field to develop themselves, while Amouri’s generation was more understanding and harmonious. The fact that the players of this generation played with each other from the youth stage, through the youth stage, all the way to the first team, and this created great harmony. Among them, he represented the secret to the success of this generation.”

Nawaf Mubarak pointed out that the loss that the team suffered against Oman by two goals to one at the opening of the “Gulf 18” matches that were held in Abu Dhabi was behind the team winning the first Gulf title, as it was a warning bell and made the team review its calculations to return and win over the Omani team.
