Sports Desk. Neeraj Chopra won a silver medal for India in the javelin throw event of the Paris Olympics. 26-year-old Neeraj threw the javelin 89.45 meters and secured second place. With this, Neeraj became the third Indian player to win medals in two consecutive Olympics.
Before Neeraj, wrestler Sushil Kumar and shuttler PV Sindhu had won medals in two consecutive Olympics. Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem won the gold medal with a new Olympic record in javelin throw. He threw the javelin 92.97 meters away. Arshad’s 2 javelin throws were more than 90 meters. Grenada’s Anderson Peters won the bronze medal by throwing the javelin 88.54 meters away.
There is a flood of congratulations on his achievement. On Neeraj’s achievement, PM Narendra Modi said- ‘Neeraj is an example of excellence. He has shown his talent time and again.’ Neeraj’s mother said- ‘For us, silver is like gold, the one who won the gold is also my son.’ Father said- ‘There was trouble due to injury, Neeraj’s medal is dedicated to Vinesh’s spirit.’
Reliance Foundation Chairman Nita Ambani congratulated Neeraj Chopra on winning the medal. She said, “Congratulations to Neeraj Chopra for winning the gold medal in javelin throw at the Paris Olympics. He inspired the whole country with his performance and boosted the country’s morale with his success. At the same time, Athletics Federation of India (AFI) President Adil Sumariwala spoke on Neeraj’s injury. He said, “I think people put too much emphasis on medals. I am one of those who do not talk about medals. I think if the process is right, medals will come.
