Earlier it was Rs.60 for adults on normal days and Rs.75 on weekends and public holidays. The ticket price for children was Rs.40 on normal days and Rs.50 on weekends and public holidays. It seems that the increased ticket prices will be implemented soon. But there is still no announcement about when it will be increased. In view of summer, the traffic to the zoo has increased. Children are being taken to the zoo as it is a holiday for educational institutions. As it is summer, many visitors come to the zoo to enjoy the coolness and to see different types of birds and animals.
The forest department hopes to increase the revenue due to the influx of visitors. It seems that the ticket prices have been increased as part of that. Minister Indrakaran Reddy recently held a key meeting with the Zoo Park Authority on the increase in ticket prices. In this meeting, discussions were held on increasing the prices of Zoopark tickets. It has been decided to increase the entry ticket prices to improve the maintenance of the park, staff salaries, and make the park better. This zoo is running under the Telangana Forest Department. It also ranks among the largest parks in the country. There are all kinds of birds, animals and snakes in this park. Spread over an area of about 380 acres, this park is known as a popular tourist spot in the city. Around 1500 species of animals are present in this park. This zoo park was opened in 1963.
To enter the tiger zone in the zoo, a separate ticket needs to be purchased apart from the entry ticket. Food items are available in canteens inside. Although the number of visitors to the zoo has decreased due to recent rains, the number of tourists will increase if the temperatures rise again and the sun begins to shine. Saturdays, Sundays and festival holidays are very crowded. The state forest department is also getting huge income through ticket prices.
