It seems that Twitter has opened a new policy, as the famous platform announced that it has imposed measures to combat duplicate, copied, and annoying content by implementing a new policy, especially as it believes that these tweets lead to “annoying others” in reference to the owners of the original tweet.
For Twitter’s policies, duplicate content can consist of text, an image or a combination of both, copied or “repeated” in any way from an original source, and shared across the social media platform.
We’ve been continuously working to combat spammy &
duplicative content on Twitter at scale and our new Copypasta and Duplicate Content policy clarifies what constitutes a violation along with what happens when it is violated. https://t.co/qA7uhMlgRD https://t.co/W9IyKRXFcQ— Twitter Safety (@TwitterSafety) May 10, 2022
The company gave examples of these violations, explaining that they may be like “identical content” or “semi-identical” that is published by an individual account or several accounts, according to what the “Mashable ME” website reported.
And the company had revealed for the first time in August 2020, that it would work to limit the appearance of “CopyPasta” tweets, which it considered a violation, noting that appropriate action was taken to limit the appearance of such violations.
CopyPasta stands for “copy-and-paste” content duplication, an Internet generic term that refers to the attempt by multiple individuals to copy content from an original source and share it widely via social media or forums.
It is noteworthy that Twitter recently promised to implement new amendments to improve the level of its services. Since last month, the new owner of the blue bird, Elon Musk, has talked about a set of changes that he will make to the famous platform, including the ability to modify tweets, support freedom of expression, as well as add other additional elements, improving its services.
