Bihar. The NIA raided the house of former JDU MLC Manorama Devi due to her links with Naxalites in Bihar. This action was taken at a total of 5 locations of her and people associated with her in Gaya and Bhabua. The NIA suspects that Manorama Devi used to provide arms and money to the Naxalites.
Cash, weapons and many documents worth more than 4 crores have been recovered in the raid. In fact, on Thursday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) took a major action and raided 5 places in Gaya and Bhabua in Bihar. This raid was done in connection with Naxalite organizations. The investigating agency suspects that former Janata Dal United (JDU) MLA Manorama Devi has an alliance with Naxalites and she provides them with weapons and money.
The NIA team was present at Manorama Devi’s residence in Gaya since 4 am. The NIA has got many important clues in this raid that lasted for about 20 hours. According to sources, so much cash was recovered from the house that a machine had to be brought to count it. Later, the NIA said that a total of Rs 4 crore 3 lakh cash, 10 different types of weapons, many documents, pen drives, mobiles, tablets, laptops and many other electronic devices have been seized.
On the other hand, Manorama Devi has completely rejected the allegations against her. She says that the money found belongs to her company and she has taken a loan from the bank. She said that her CA will give complete information about this. When asked about the weapons, she said that they belong to her personal security guard.
