National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials conducted a search at the house of Telangana High Court lawyer Shilpa. NIA officials raided her residence in Chilukanagar, Uppal, Hyderabad on Thursday morning. Along with another advocate Devendra, a social worker from Chegunta also conducted searches at his house. It is learned that the NIA officials who arrested Advocate Shilpa after the search was over, shifted him to Gatchibauli’s office.
Along with Shilpa, Devendra and another social activist are accused of recruiting a nursing student named Radha, who went missing for three years in Visakhapatnam, AP, into the Maoists. The case, which was registered as a missing person case in Visakhapatnam, has been handed over to the NIA. Based on the FIR registered by the Visakhapatnam police, NIA officials registered a case against Shilpa and others and started an investigation.
Her mother had earlier complained to the police that their daughter Radha had been kidnapped. Radha’s mother had alleged that CMS leaders Shilpa and Devendra, a Maoist affiliate, had kidnapped Radha and forcibly joined the Maoist party. CMS leaders Devendra, Swapna, High Court lawyer Shilpa and others used to come to their residence, the complaint said. According to the complaint, Devendra took Radha in the name of medical treatment. After that, his daughter did not come home.
