Nicole Zignago spoke with Jesús Alzamora on his YouTube show. The Peruvian interpreter, daughter of the well-known singer-songwriter Gian Marco, talked about her musical career and how she is positioning herself within the local scene.
The young woman revealed a bit of her story on the former driver’s podcast. At one point in the interview, she was asked if it bothers her when she is mentioned as her father’s firstborn.
It pisses me off that they tell me I’m the ‘daughter of’ Gian Marco”, he stated in the talk with the presenter of “La Banca”. While she expressed her discomfort with the slur, she said she was proud of him.

“I admire my dad immensely as a professional and a human being. It is a tremendous pride to say that I am his daughter, ”he stressed.
Nicole Zignago asks to be recognized by name
“But I dedicated myself to the same thing as him and it came to me that they put in a headline: ‘Gianmarco’s daughter, Nicole Zignago’… all wrong. I work a lot and I’m talented.”
Jesús Alzamora gave his opinion on the matter. “For the son, she is a backpack. ‘I’m happy that my old man is who he is,’ but that doesn’t mean you’re going to load all expectations on me,” he noted.
“I feel that society makes that, if someone is recognized, they take all expectations (…) to the son,” added the singer in her speech.
Nicole Zignago distances herself from her father
In another interview, Nicole Zignago revealed that she spoke with her father to ask him not to help her in her musical career. “I told him: ‘Dad, let’s keep our distance in this artist/artist relationship.’ I wanted it to be like this. As far as he can, he takes care of me, ”she told Carlos Orozco.
“He has released me a lot and I thank him very much because it is the way I wanted to do my career. In addition, I make completely different music, I get together with people who make other types of music, “he said.
Gian Marco went to Berckle for Nicole Zignago’s audition
In the interview with Carlos Orozco, Nicole Zignago said that her father, Gian Marco, accompanied her to enter Berklee College of Music. She said that he went to play the piano while she sang.
“So my dad went and the jurors had no idea who he was and they told him he was really good and he should do something with music,” he recounted.
