The new flyover will enable signal-free smooth travel from ISBT Kashmiri Gate to Ashram flyover and south parts of Delhi to Noida. Kejriwal said that the vehicles, which were stuck in the traffic block for several hours earlier, will now be able to travel without any hindrance.
66 Crores have been allocated for the Sarai Kale Khan Flyover. But the project was completed for 50 crore rupees. Aam Aadmi government has constructed 30 flyovers in Delhi in the last eight years. After inaugurating the flyover, Krejriwal said that the state government has saved around Rs 557 crore in its construction. He added that this should be included in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Earlier Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari had said that the Urban Extension Road 2 Expressway would soon become a reality. With the opening of the expressway, it will take only 20 minutes to reach the Indira Gandhi International Airport via the Haryana-Delhi border. Gadkari made a statement in this regard earlier this month.
The travel time from Kundli on Delhi-Haryana border to Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport will be reduced from two hours to 20 minutes. It is reported that the expressway will be opened within two months. Urban Extension Road 2 will be India’s first elevated urban expressway.
The project is being implemented at a cost of Rs 9000 crore. The 29 km long stretch is an eight lane access controlled expressway. Make this expressway a reality by tunnel, underpass, grade road and elevated road.
