Bread for All- Bread for all
As a staple food in the Gulf countries, bread known as Qubboos is given free to the needy through smart machines. The authorities have named the project as Bread for All. The Mohammad Bin Rashid Global Center for Endowment Consultancy under Auqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation has come up with the ‘Bread for All’ initiative. It is a system of providing free bread to the poor and laborers at different times of the day.
Smart machines at various outlets
The authorities plan to install ATM-style smart machines in various supermarkets and outlets of the country to target roti to the needy. A digital machine for distribution of roti is set up in collaboration with Aswaq. Smart machines will be installed in supermarkets in Al Mishar, Al Warqa, Mirdif, Nad Al Sheba, Nad Al Hamar, Al Khoos and Al Bada. Its works have already started. The machine is designed with simple mechanisms to make it easy for anyone to use.
Machines that bake bread and give it hot
Get the bread for all plan, not the bread you’ve ever made and taken away. Instead, hot fresh bread will reach the hands of the needy. All the customer needs to do is press the ‘order’ button on the machine and wait for a while. The flour pre-loaded in the machine is cooked into Qubboos and delivered hot in a tray to the needy. Machines programmed accordingly are installed for the project.
The machine also has a system for donating
Bread for All project is planned as a charity work with social participation. Officials said the UAE government is introducing a modern and sustainable model of philanthropy through the project. A mechanism to contribute to the project has also been provided in the machine itself. Apart from this, donations can be made through the ‘Dubai Now’ app and through SMS. To donate AED 10, SMS to 3656, AED 50 to 3658, AED 100 to 3659 and AED 500 to 3679. Those who want to donate more than this can also donate through the website www.mbrgcec.ae.
Continuation of the project in the time of Covid
Sheikh Mohammed, the Ruler of Dubai, has announced that no one will sleep hungry in the UAE with the aim of helping people during the time of covid when they are suffering without work. On that day, the UAE authorities took steps to provide free food to all the needy. The beneficiaries of the project were mainly non-residents. The UAE authorities have introduced the Bread for All project as a continuation of this. The project aims to help those who are facing difficulties due to any reason even after the fear of Kovid has subsided and jobs have resumed.
The project will be expanded to more places
Ali Al Mutawwa, Secretary General of Auqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, said that this is a new model of charity work involving the people. Through this popular project it is possible to strengthen brotherhood among different sections of the society. He said that by collaborating with more partners, the project will be extended to more centers so that the benefits of the project reach more people. Aswaq Deputy CEO Afan Khoori also informed that the project will be extended to all supermarkets in Dubai in the first phase.
