CM Ashok Gehlot has got a shock today in the defamation case filed by Union Minister Gajendra Singh. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has rejected Gehlot’s application.
CM Ashok Gehlot had filed an application in the court saying that the complainant was not appearing in the court for the last three hearings. In such a situation, the court should acquit the charges as per law. On September 14, the court had reserved its decision on Gehlot’s application after debate between both the parties.
While giving its verdict today, the court rejected Gehlot’s application. In such a situation, this defamation case will continue against Gehlot in future too. Now the court will hear the case next on September 25.
Gajendra Singh had filed a defamation case
In fact, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had filed a defamation claim against CM Ashok Gehlot for naming him and his family as accused in the Sanjeevani scam. On which Rouse Avenue Court had issued summons against CM Ashok Gehlot on 6th July.
Gehlot had filed a revision against this in the sessions court. But he did not get relief from there. CM Gehlot was allowed to appear in the Revision Court only through the VC.
SOG said whatever he said
During the hearing in the Revision Court on August 1, it was said on behalf of CM Ashok Gehlot that he also holds the Home Department. Being the Home Minister, SOG reports to him. The information that SOG gave them regarding the case. CM Ashok Gehlot shared it with the media. Gajendra Singh’s family is also named in the complaint received by SOG.
While arguing, the advocates of Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had said that our name was not in any complaint. After the defamation case was registered, the alleged facts in this case were collected by SOG.
Gehlot had given the statement about 6 months ago
About five months ago, Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat had filed a defamation claim against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Gajendra Singh had based this on Ashok Gehlot’s statement about his family in the Sanjeevani scam. In fact, after the budget review meeting at the Secretariat on February 21, Gehlot had said that Gajendra Singh’s entire family including his parents and wife are involved in the Sanjeevani scam. Even before this incident, there had been continuous exchange of words between the two leaders.
Gehlot had said regarding the case, welcome
CM Ashok Gehlot had also attacked Union Minister Gajendra Singh regarding the defamation case. Gehlot had said that the entire scam is on paper. Gajendra Singh’s defamation case is welcome. At least on this pretext the case will move forward. While addressing PM Modi, he had said that he should remove Gajendra Singh from his cabinet.
