The United States of America could face repercussions if false information about the arms trade between Russia and North Korea continues to spread. This statement was made by the director of the US Department of Foreign Affairs at the DPRK Foreign Ministry, Kwon Jong Geun, on Sunday, January 29.
He noted that Washington has again begun spreading baseless rumors about an arms deal between the DPRK and the Russian Federation in a foolish attempt to justify its supply of weapons to Kyiv, Gazeta.Ru reports.
“The United States must bear in mind that they will face very serious consequences if they continue to spread nonsense against our country,” said the diplomat quoted by the Korean Central News Agency.
According to him, what the US authorities are doing, fabricating such fakes, is unacceptable and is “a serious provocation that needs to be responded to.”
Earlier in the day, Won Jong Geun called the US pledge to provide tanks to Ukraine a “criminal act against humanity.”
Two days earlier, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and deputy head of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea Kim Yo-jong said that the United States, which is pumping weapons to Ukraine, is stimulating the escalation of the conflict. She stressed that the White House poses a threat to Russia’s strategic security.
On January 25, US President Joe Biden announced the delivery of 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine. He also stated that the aid would be accompanied by supplies from other countries.
The United States and other Western countries began to actively arm Ukraine against the backdrop of a military operation carried out by Russia since February 24 to protect Donbass, against which Kyiv has been conducting military operations since 2014.
