Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 seeks to reform Saudi women to advance in various fields. Previously restricted to men, women can now do the same.
In 2019, the first announcement was made that Saudi women would be allowed into the army. The announcement came in the same year that Saudi Arabia said women could leave the country without the consent of their male relatives.
The Saudi Ministry of Defense has announced that men and women across the country can apply for positions in the military through the Unified Entry Portal. The ministry said Saudi women would be recruited into the ranks of soldiers, Lance Corporals, Corporals, Sergeants and Staff Sergeants.
