New Delhi. There is going to be a big change in NEET UG 2025 exam. After four years, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to discontinue optional questions in Section B. These questions were started during COVID-19. After four years, NEET exam is returning to its old format. An additional optional section was added for year 4 during COVID-19 to help students.
Now students appearing for NEET UG 2025 will not get optional questions and extra time. There will be a total of 180 compulsory questions (45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry and 90 questions in Biology). Candidates will have 180 minutes time. There will be no optional questions and extra time given due to Covid. NEET UG applications are expected to start soon.
This year NEET UG 2025 will have 180 compulsory questions. There will be 45-45 questions in Physics, Chemistry and 90 questions in Biology. Students will get 180 minutes for the paper. According to the statement from the National Testing Agency, ‘All NEET UG, 2025 candidates are informed that the question paper pattern and duration of the examination will return to the pre-Covid format. There will be no Section B this year.

Apart from the pre-Covid exam pattern, it has been told by the National Testing Agency that Apaar ID is also not necessary for the exam. Therefore, students should not get confused in any way regarding this. For those students who are preparing for NEET UG exam, the National Examination Agency will soon issue a notification and announce the application dates.
