Although both of them did not have to be admitted to the hospital, their condition is under control with treatment at home. Earlier on Monday morning, this virus (HMPV virus) was found in a 3-month-old girl and an 8-month-old boy in Karnataka. Both the children were examined at a hospital in Bengaluru. In West Bengal also, symptoms of this disease have been found in a five-month-old child. He is undergoing treatment in a private hospital. Two children have also been found infected in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
In Ahmedabad also, human metapneumovirus (HMPV virus) infection was found in a 2-month-old child. This child is from Rajasthan and has reached Ahmedabad for treatment. After the case came to light, Health Minister JP Nadda said that the virus spreads through breathing and air. It affects people of all ages. WHO is monitoring the situation and the report will be shared soon.
