Chennai: On October 15, India and Pakistan cricket teams are going to play in the World Cup series at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. In this case, it is reported that fans are busy booking beds in private hospitals in the city around the date of the match. Let’s see what the reason is.
On the day of the India-Pakistan match, the hotel rates in Ahmedabad have gone up by about 10 times. On normal days, the room rent for a day’s stay in hotels in Ahmedabad ranges from Rs.5000 to Rs.8000. It has now increased to Rs.40 thousand. A few hotels charge up to Rs.1 lakh.
According to hotel booking website booking.com, the current rent for a deluxe room is Rs 5,699. However, if you want to stay at the same hotel for one day on October 15, it has been reported that Rs. 71,999 will be charged. It is also reported that the star hotels there are not empty on the days of the tournament.
In this case, in order to overcome this, the hospital administrations have informed that they are investigating the bed charges for one-day stay of cricket fans in private hospitals located adjacent to the Narendra Modi Stadium. Especially in hospitals that have a full body check-up package, they ask about the charges for a 24-hour to 48-hour stay. An attendant may also stay with the patient in the hospital.
“We have been getting calls about the bed charges for our hospital stays on tournament days. We have a complete physical examination package. We have learned that the same situation continues in other hospitals as well. So we have come up with the idea of bringing some other medical test package,” said Nikhil Lala, a doctor from Ahmedabad. Before the World Cup, India and Pakistan will play in the Asia Cup on September 2. This tournament is held in Sri Lanka.
