Karachi: Pakistan team faces problem in getting visa to come to India for World Cup series.
The Cricket World Cup 2023 series will be held from October 5 to November 19 across 10 cities in India. India will host the series. India, reigning champion England, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Netherlands are participating in the tournament.
Accordingly, the Pakistan team will face the Netherlands team in the match to be held on October 6. After this, the highly anticipated India-Pakistan match will be held on October 14 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
However, there is a problem in getting visas for the Pakistan team to come to India in the World Cup series. The cricket board of the country has alleged that while visas have been given to the other teams participating in the World Cup series, only the Pakistan team has not been given visas.
Before the first practice match of the World Cup against New Zealand on September 29, the Pakistan team had planned to travel to Dubai for a few days for all the players to spend some time there. After completing the trip to Dubai, it was planned to come directly to Hyderabad and participate in the World Cup matches. Accordingly, it is said that he handed over his passport at the Indian Embassy after returning from playing in the Asia Cup matches.
However, visa approval has not yet been granted by India. Subsequently, the Pakistan Cricket Board appealed to the ICC regarding the visa. The Pakistan team has informed the ICC that they have decided to cancel the Dubai camp due to visa delays and come directly to India next week.
