The Egyptian Football Association announced on Tuesday that Hani Abu Rida’s list won the presidency of the federation after the elections held at the headquarters of the National Teams Center in Cairo.
The Federation said on its website that registration for the General Assembly was opened for clubs at nine in the morning local time today, as the Assembly witnessed the election of a new board to manage Egyptian football during the coming period.
The Abu Rida list, a member of the International and African Football Confederations, submitted its nomination papers, while no other list submitted before the nomination period closed.
Abu Rida’s list received 107 votes out of 115 votes in the elections.
The list includes Abu Rida as president, Khaled Al-Dirandali as deputy, and Ahmed Helmy Al-Sharif, Hamada Al-Sherbiny, Mustafa Abu Zahra, Tariq Muhammad Abu Al-Enein, Walid Abdel-Gawad, Muhammad Abu Hussein, and Enas Mazhar as members.
Abu Rida said after winning the presidency of the federation that his primary goal is to develop and advance Egyptian football and return it to its natural place.
He added that he would begin, in cooperation with the rest of the members of his list, immediately to implement their electoral program to achieve the ambitions of the General Assembly, which placed its confidence in the entire list.
