In Omsk, law enforcement agencies stopped the activities of an accomplice of the “Islamic State” (IS, an organization recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation). This was reported on November 22 by the press service of the FSB Directorate for the Omsk Region.
“The FSB of Russia for the Omsk region, with the military support of the Rosgvardia directorate for the Omsk region, in cooperation with the FSB of Russia for the Republic of Tatarstan and the Sverdlovsk region, suppressed the illegal activities of an accomplice of the international terrorist organization” Islamic State “, a resident of Omsk, a citizen of one of the countries of the Central Asian region”, – the message says.
It was established that the detainee contacted an active IS member who was recruiting Russian citizens and, at his request, financed the group’s activities by transferring money to a bank card.
On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Assistance in terrorist activities”. FSB officers establish the circumstances of the crime.
On November 9, it became known that the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don ruled against two teenagers who were planning terrorist attacks in educational institutions of Kerch. The young people were sentenced to four and seven years in prison, respectively.
According to the investigation, the young people developed plans for armed attacks, found instructions on how to make improvised explosive devices and diagrams of buildings on the Internet. It is known that they were administrators of groups in instant messengers and social networks, in which they persuaded other participants to similar crimes.
